FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before you rent your dumpster in the Fraser Valley
Not sure? That's normal. Tell us what you're getting rid of and we'll help you choose the right size.
5 Yard Bin - Best for heavy materials such as dirt, soil, sod, concrete, rocks and smaller heavy-material projects.
12 Yard Bin - A popular size for household cleanouts, small renovations, roofing, drywall and general junk.
16 Yard Bin - Great for larger household cleanouts, garage cleanouts, renovations and construction debris.
20 Yard Bin - Best for large cleanouts, estate cleanups, bulky household items and larger renovation projects.
If you're stuck between two sizes, give us a call. We'd rather help you choose the right bin than have you run out of room.
For our standard household and construction-waste bins, your quoted price generally includes delivery, pickup, up to 7 days of rental, and an included amount of disposal weight.
Additional charges only apply when applicable, such as extra weight or special disposal items. We'll explain these before you book.
Our standard rental period is up to 7 days.
If you're finished early, just contact us and we'll pick it up. Need it longer? Usually no problem. Contact us before the end of your rental and we'll work with you.
The disposal facility weighs our truck and bin when your material is dumped.
If your load is heavier than the weight included with your rental, you only pay for the additional weight. The overage is prorated - you don't suddenly get charged for an entire extra tonne because you're slightly overweight.
We can also provide the scale information from your load.
You don't need to weigh it yourself. Every load is weighed at the disposal facility.
If you're putting unusually heavy materials in the bin, tell us before booking. We can usually give you an idea of what to expect and recommend the correct bin.
Heavy material needs to be handled differently because it becomes extremely heavy very quickly.
Our 5 Yard Bin is specifically designed for materials such as dirt, soil, sod, concrete, rocks and landscaping material.
Let us know exactly what you're disposing of and we'll recommend the safest and most economical option.
Yes, but mattresses and box springs have a special disposal surcharge charged by disposal facilities.
Tell us how many you have when booking so there are no surprises.
Please tell us before putting tires in the bin. Tires require special handling and may have an additional disposal charge.
No. Drywall cannot be mixed in with regular garbage.
Drywall needs to be kept separate from other waste because it has specific disposal requirements.
If your project has a mix of drywall and other construction debris, contact us before loading the bin. We may be able to make special arrangements, but it needs to be discussed in advance.
Please do not place drywall into a mixed garbage bin unless we have specifically approved it.
No. Orange Bins does not haul asbestos or asbestos-containing materials.
Do not place suspected asbestos material in any Orange Bins container.
If you suspect a material may contain asbestos, it should be tested and handled by a qualified asbestos-removal contractor.
If asbestos is found in one of our bins, we may be unable to transport or dispose of the load and additional costs may apply.
Yes. Your material is weighed at the disposal facility, so we're able to tell you the actual disposal weight.

Yes. Cardboard can generally be included with regular household and renovation material.
If you have a very large amount of cardboard, tell us. There may be a better way to handle it.
Yes. Our bins have doors that make loading easier.
Instead of lifting everything over the side, you can open the door and walk larger or heavier items into the bin.
Usually, yes. Driveways are one of the most common places we deliver bins.
Our smaller hook-lift trucks are designed to work well in residential neighbourhoods and tighter locations.
If you're worried about space, send us a photo and we can take a look before delivery.
Sometimes. It depends on ground conditions, access, slope, how soft the ground is, and the weight of the loaded bin.
Send us a picture of the location and we'll tell you whether we're comfortable placing it there.
We take care when placing our bins, but dumpsters and loaded trucks are heavy.
If you have a new, decorative, damaged or particularly soft driveway, let us know before delivery. We can discuss the best placement location with you.
Not necessarily. If we have clear instructions and safe access, we can often deliver the bin without you being home.
A photo or description showing exactly where you'd like the bin placed is very helpful.
We offer fast local delivery and can often accommodate short-notice rentals.
Availability depends on the day and where our trucks and bins are scheduled. Call 604-404-2008 and we'll tell you what we can do.
Call, text or email us and tell us it's ready. We'll arrange pickup.
If your project isn't finished and you need another bin, we can also swap the full bin for an empty one.
Absolutely. Many renovation and cleanup projects require more than one load.
Tell us when your first bin is getting full and we can arrange a swap or another delivery.
Material must stay level with or below the top of the bin.
Nothing should stick above the sides where it could fall out during transportation.
Heavy materials may have additional loading restrictions because of their weight.
We typically take payment information when the rental is booked.
Any final disposal charges that apply can be calculated after the bin is weighed at the disposal facility. We accept major credit cards.
Don't worry about figuring everything out yourself.
Tell us where you are, what you're getting rid of, roughly how much you have, and when you'd like the bin. We'll help you figure out the rest.
